Tonstartssbandht biography

An American psychedelic/noise-rock duo led by brothers Edwin and Andy White, Tonstartssbandht (pronounced Tahn-starts-bandit) emerged in 2008 with a sound that employs an aural mish-mash of loop-driven pop, doomy, experimental blues, and nervy, improvised, and fractured lo-fi indie rock. Known for their dynamic live performances, the band began self-releasing albums shortly after forming and amassed a substantial sonic arsenal before inking a deal with Mexican Summer and issuing their official debut long-player, Sorcerer, in 2017. Petunia, the brothers' dizzying sophomore outing for the label, followed in 2021. Biography by James Christopher Monger

    Manchester has become one of the largest cities in Britain over the past hundred years. Although Manchester is a city with a very rich history, the main focus of its development has always been industry. The center is almost entirely furnished with warehouses and factory buildings, entangled with a network of canals and old railway bridges. It is quite natural that no one gave such kindness to the reduction of production: in the former shops now open fashionable bars, in factory warehouses - designer shops, and under the old bridges "settled" nightclubs. It was for the active nightlife of the city and got its middle name - Madchester.
