Elif Demirezer, known by her stage name Elif, is a German musician and songwriter with Turkish roots. Elif was born in Berlin as the daughter of Turkish immigrants and has three siblings. She grew up in the Moabit district of Berlin. In addition to performances in her school's musical and choir groups and guitar lessons, she wrote her first songs as a teenager. At the age of 16, Demirezer applied to the eighth season of the ProSieben talent show Popstars with her own song ''Fliegen''. She shared second place in the finals with her partner Niklas Dennin. In March 2013, Universal released her first single ''Unter meine Haut'', which entered the German single charts at number 80 in mid-April. At the end of August 2013, the debut album of the same name was released, which was produced by Demirezer himself and Philipp Schwär. It reached number 23 in the German album charts. May 2017 saw the release of Elif's second album Doppelleben. In 2019 Elif was a member of the jury for the KiKA composers’ competition ''Dein Song''. After a longer break, she recorded the video single ''Zu Ende'' with rapper Samra in january 2020, which reached number 4 in the German single charts. At the beginning of September she released her second single with Samra, ''Augen Zu', which reached number 9 in the German charts. At the same time, her third studio album, entitled Nacht, was released. In early 2021 she was a guest performer on the single ''Highway'' by rapper Katja Krasavice for her second album ''Eure Mami''. After a week, the music video had almost three million views on YouTube and was number one in the German single charts. In May 2021, she performed at the Free European Song Contest, a music competition broadcast on German TV channel ProSieben, where she represented Turkey with a remix of her song Alles Helal. She finished sixth. She released her latest studio Album ''Endlich tut es wieder weh'' on februarary 3rd 2023, wich reached number 5 on the german charts.
