Empress Of is an American singer, songwriter, and producer based in Los Angeles. She first gained attention in 2012 by anonymously releasing a series of one-minute demos on YouTube titled Colorminutes. Her first 7" single, "Champagne," was released later that year through No Recordings. Her stage name was inspired by a tarot card reading: the first card pulled was The Empress, associated with fertility, strength, and creativity. Throughout her career, Rodriguez has collaborated with Khalid, Kimbra, Jamie Lidell, Florence + The Machine, Allie X, and Girl Ultra. Her music blends pop, electronic, and experimental sounds with bilingual lyrics, often exploring themes of identity, love, and vulnerability.
