Froukje Veenstra, also mononymously known as Froukje, is a Dutch singer. She first rose to prominence in 2020 with her debut single “Groter Dan Ik”, an activist song against climate change. A few months after its release, it went viral and Froukje performed the song at multiple radio stations. She then signed with TopNotch. In 2024, Froukje released her debut solo album Noodzakelijk Verdriet under her independent label Frok ‘n Roll. It included the previous singles “Als Ik God Was” and “Naar Het Licht”. It debuted at Number 1 in both the Netherlands and Flemish Belgium, earning Froukje her first ever Number 1-album in both nations. It received universal acclaim from critics and was supported by an international concert tour.
