Combining the genre-hopping sounds of Gwen Stefani, and the feisty attitude of P!nk, songwriter and powerhouse vocalist Jessie J overcame various career setbacks and health problems to become a star in her own right. Born Jessica Cornish in Chadwell Heath, London in 1988, she started her career in show biz at the age of 11, performing in the West End production of Andrew Lloyd Webber's Whistle Down the Wind. After studying musical theater at the prestigious BRITS School, she signed a deal with indie label Gut Records, which went bankrupt before releasing any of her music. During the promotion of her latest music and on the verge of a new tour, Jessie J was diagnosed with early-stage breast cancer. The diagnosis required surgery and came with complications, leading her to postpone her scheduled tour dates. Despite these challenges, she released her new single "Believe In Magic", a song that reflects her resilience and determination to keep moving forward in life. This strength in the face of adversity is not only captured in the song but also stands as a reflection of her entire career, marked by perseverance, authenticity, and an unwavering connection with her audience.
