Janae Nierah Wherry, professionally known as Sexyy Red, is an American rapper born on April 15, 1998. She gained prominence in 2023 with her single "Pound Town" (featuring Tay Keith), followed by the remixed version "Pound Town 2 (feat. Nicki Minaj & Tay Keith", which marked her debut on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Her subsequent single, "SkeeYee," achieved similar success and both tracks were included in her second mixtape titled "Hood Hottest Princess ." Billboard hailed her as "one of the biggest breakout artists of Summer 2023" and she earned a nomination for "Best Breakthrough Hip Hop Artist" at the 2023 BET Hip Hop Awards. Wherry's public persona, lyrics, and media presence have been characterized as bold, confident and sexual.
