Jessie J biography

Combining the genre-hopping sounds of Gwen Stefani, and the feisty attitude of P!nk, songwriter and powerhouse vocalist Jessie J overcame various career setbacks and health problems to become a star in her own right. Born Jessica Cornish in Chadwell Heath, London in 1988, she started her career in show biz at the age of 11, performing in the West End production of Andrew Lloyd Webber's Whistle Down the Wind. After studying musical theater at the prestigious BRITS School, she signed a deal with indie label Gut Records, which went bankrupt before releasing any of her music. In 2023, after 17 years with Republic Records, Jessie J parted ways with the label, marking the beginning of a new chapter in her career. Since then, she has independently released new singles “No Secrets”, followed by the Ryan Tedder-assisted track “Living My Best Life.” She also premiered a new song, “The Award Goes To,” at this year’s BAFTAs. Her upcoming sixth studio album is said to carry a nostalgic tone, with Jessie describing it as a return to the energy and sound of her early 2010s work.

  • What's interesting in Manchester?

Manchester has become one of the largest cities in Britain over the past hundred years. Although Manchester is a city with a very rich history, the main focus of its development has always been industry. The center is almost entirely furnished with warehouses and factory buildings, entangled with a network of canals and old railway bridges. It is quite natural that no one gave such kindness to the reduction of production: in the former shops now open fashionable bars, in factory warehouses - designer shops, and under the old bridges "settled" nightclubs. It was for the active nightlife of the city and got its middle name - Madchester.
