Froukje biography

Froukje Veenstra (born 4 September 2001 in Nieuwkoop, The Netherlands), professionally known as Froukje, is an independent Dutch pop songwriter and singer, originally from Nieuwkoop but now based in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. She makes (mostly electronic) pop songs with lyrics in Dutch. Her début single, 'Groter Dan Ik' (2020), addresses the global climate crisis and went viral in The Netherlands. Froukje issued two EPs (Licht en Donker in January 2021 and Uitzinnig in March 2022) before finally releasing her highly anticipated début full-length, Noodzakelijk Verdriet, in January 2024.
