BLACKPINK (Hangul: 블랙핑크; stylized as BLΛƆKPIИK) is a South Korean girl group formed by YG Entertainment, consisting of Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa. The group officially debuted on August 8, 2016, with the single album Square One, which included the tracks “Whistle” and “Boombayah.” Both songs topped major South Korean music charts, and just 13 days after their debut, BLACKPINK won their first music show award on Inkigayo, making them one of the fastest K-pop acts to achieve such recognition. Today, BLACKPINK remains one of the most prominent and influential girl groups in the world, recognized for breaking international barriers for K-pop and continuing to set records in both music and performance.
