Catherine Slater, known professionally as Slayyyter, is an American singer and songwriter from St. Louis, Missouri. She started her career independently through SoundCloud, all while working as a receptionist and then at a restaurant. She formerly went by Slater, before renaming herself to Slayyyter. After a period of silence and inactivity, Slayyyter teased and released a brand new single after months titled "Self Destruct (featuring Wuki) which signaled in a new musical era. Over the next months and into 2021, she would release new singles including "Throatzillaaa", "Troubled Paradise", and "Clouds", all of which would be included on her debut studio album, Troubled Paradise. Her debut studio album was eventually released on June 11, 2021.
