AG Club biography

Futuristic yet retro, surrealistic but deeply human, AG Club—short for Avant-Garde Club—more than lives up to its name. Since releasing their debut project, Halfway Off the Porch, in 2020, lead members Jody Fontaine and Baby Boy have created at the intersection of raw emotion and innovative style for anthems that are sleek, fun, and engrossing. As a result, they’ve earned more than 41 million combined global and video streams while establishing themselves as an emerging force in the Bay Area. The Epic Records artists continue that tradition with BRODIE WORLD, an immersive, free-wheeling adventure. The project is quintessential AG and, in their minds, a welcome reprieve from the intensity of their last offering, 2022’s Imposter Syndrome. That escapist energy pulsates across BRODIE WORLD. “eva” is a dreamily electric ode to hedonistic excess. For “Barry,” Jody’s animated inflections create a natural push-pull chemistry with Baby Boy’s icy cool. Fusing playful imagination with an innate sense of aesthetic, BRODIE WORLD is whimsical and masterful. AG Club’s name reflects its artistic philosophy as a collective that goes against the zeitgeist. With shapeshifting sounds that can oscillate between Memphis hip-hop, indie rock, and R&B, AG Club projects like Halfway Off the Porch (2020), Fuck Your Expectations Pt. 1 (2021), Fuck Your Expectations Pt. 2 (2021), and Impostor Syndrome (2022) have helped them connect with fans. With BRODIE WORLD, they invite listeners into their dreams.

  • What's interesting in Manchester?

Manchester has become one of the largest cities in Britain over the past hundred years. Although Manchester is a city with a very rich history, the main focus of its development has always been industry. The center is almost entirely furnished with warehouses and factory buildings, entangled with a network of canals and old railway bridges. It is quite natural that no one gave such kindness to the reduction of production: in the former shops now open fashionable bars, in factory warehouses - designer shops, and under the old bridges "settled" nightclubs. It was for the active nightlife of the city and got its middle name - Madchester.
