Potter Payper, renowned as an underrated legend breathes a breath of fresh air into the scene with his chilling hood tails and unmatched lyrical depth. Detailing vivid accounts of street politics and experiences amongst his raps, Potter’s described by many as the streets storyteller. His musical journey began in 2013 when he released arguably one the best mixtape’s in UK Rap history, titled ‘Training Day’. Soon after, he rose to prominence off the back of his legendary freestyles, which have accumulated 25m+ views to date. Potter continued to show his versatility and consistency and in 2016 he unveiled ‘Training Day 2’, which was soon followed by a plethora of singles and features with the likes of Giggs, Stormzy and Young Adz. Following a short hiatus, Potter returned in 2020 with ‘Training Day 3’ - the final instalment to his iconic road rap trilogy. The mixtape charted at #3 in the UK chart, his highest charting position to date and has accumulated over 70 million streams. Fast-forward to 2021 and Potter has released ‘Topshottas Freestyle’, alongside announcing that he’s signed to 0207 Def Jam. Having put in years of work, Potter is no overnight success and ‘Topshottas’ is another statement of his unique musical talent; a star quality impossible to ignore, this freestyle further solidifies him as one of the most important emerging voices within the UK Rap landscape.
