Hard-Fi biography

Hard-Fi is an English indie rock band formed in Staines, Middlesex in 2003. The band's continual members have been Richard Archer (vocals), Kai Stephens (bass guitar), Ross Phillips (guitar) and Steve Kemp (drums). Staines is a suburban location 16 miles (26 km) southwest of Central London that has significantly influenced their musical style and lyrics. In the run-up to Hard-Fi’s first studio recorded EP, 3 tracks (“Don’t Go Making Plans”, “Always and Forever” and “Don’t Need You”) were released. Titled the “Don’t Go Making Plans EP”, it released on 15 November 2024, containing an extra new track (“I Know What You Want”) and 2 remixes of the title track.

    Manchester has become one of the largest cities in Britain over the past hundred years. Although Manchester is a city with a very rich history, the main focus of its development has always been industry. The center is almost entirely furnished with warehouses and factory buildings, entangled with a network of canals and old railway bridges. It is quite natural that no one gave such kindness to the reduction of production: in the former shops now open fashionable bars, in factory warehouses - designer shops, and under the old bridges "settled" nightclubs. It was for the active nightlife of the city and got its middle name - Madchester.
