Gracie Abrams (born September 7, 1999) is an indie-pop singer/songwriter from Los Angeles, California, and the daughter of filmmaker and composer J.J. Abrams. 2024 marked a new era for Abrams — On May 1, 2024, Abrams released "Risk," the lead single to her sophomore album, "The Secret of Us." "The Secret of Us."" released June 21, 2024 and was preceded by Risk as well as "Close to You," a viral track Abrams had teased a snippet of years ago. "Close to You" was initially released as a side B to a vinyl pressing for "Risk" and released June 6, 2024 on streaming. A longtime fan-favorite as well as a viral track on social media, "Close to You" debuted in the Billboard Hot 100, becoming Abrams' first solo entry and second overall, as well as receiving favorable comparisons to Lorde's "Melodrama" (2017). When The Secret of Us. released, it was met with widespread commercial and critical acclaim. The record was praised for Abrams' songwriting as well as Aaron Dessner's production. Sonically, the album marked a change from Abrams' debut album "Good Riddance," which leaned into the indie genre and was generally more downtempo. In September, Abrams will embark on the sold out "The Secret of Us Tour," joined with special guest Role Model, and will perform in Europe the following month. After, she will rejoin The Eras Tour as a special guest in Canada and the U.S.
